This page is maintained by Felix Apple to explain how we handle personal information collected through our website. It is customer-facing content — not an independent certification or audit.
1. What we collect
- Account data — email address and, if you provide it, your full name.
- Order data — shipping name, address, phone, email, order items, totals, and payment method (Cash on Delivery).
- Reviews & messages — content you voluntarily submit through the review form or contact form.
- Technical data — standard log data (IP, browser, timestamps) collected by our hosting provider for security and diagnostics.
2. How we use it
- To create and manage your account and authenticate you.
- To process and deliver your orders and communicate with you about them.
- To display customer reviews on product pages and moderate abusive content.
- To respond to enquiries submitted through the contact form.
- To detect and prevent fraud or abuse of the service.
3. Legal basis
We rely on performance of a contract to process orders, consent for reviews and marketing (where applicable), and legitimate interest for security and site improvement.
4. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Our hosting and database provider (Lovable Cloud / Supabase) that stores this website's data.
- The courier fulfilling your Cash on Delivery order (name, address, phone).
- Authorities where legally required.
5. Retention
Account data is kept while your account exists. Order data is kept for at least five years for tax and accounting purposes. Contact messages are kept for up to 24 months. You can request deletion at any time (subject to legal retention obligations).
6. Your rights
Under South African POPIA (and equivalent laws where applicable), you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, object to processing, and lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.

7. Security
Access to your data is protected by authentication and database-level row security so that only you (and authorised staff) can access your account and orders. Passwords are checked against known-breached password lists at sign-up.
8. Cookies
We use only the cookies required to keep you signed in and remember your cart. No third-party advertising cookies are set.
